The next 10 weeks

Durning the next 10 weeks, my goal is to learn more about myself, and become a healthier happier person.  I am looking forward to seeing how I change mentally and physically (yes, I started back to te gym this week too).

  1. So far this is a happy week. I attended a spin class yesterday, and 2 classes today. I am looking forward to a relaxing day (of food shopping), tomorrow. Maybe some yoga at home.

  2. Hi Sue,

That's a good goal. I agree with you that being physically active contribute to your mood and sense of health. It's tough, trying to juggle work, family, life, etc. but keep it up. Stay happy.

  3. Hi Sue,

Good for you starting back to the gym. I too need to get myself back to the YMCA. I am also thinking about taking a spin class, but it would have to be a very beginning class! I have never tried yoga, but here it is a wonderful way to help relax the mind, is that true? Do you find that for yourself? I hope you achieve your goal for this class, it certainly is a great one! Looking forward to getting to know you over the next several weeks. Sandy.... "Bicksterworld"

  4. Hi Sue,
Kudos for setting a goal to be healthier. The hard part is following through, lol. I have done pilates in the past and I would love to attend another series of classes but my schedule does not allow for it, so instead I take a time out in the evening a couple times a week and lay down my mat in the living room and go through a handful of the exercises. I have made a print out to remind me which exercises to go through. I think this is relaxing and a good core workout as well. I have not attended a spin class before, is this a cycling class?

  5. @Sandy - Spin class is the best! You don't need a beginners class, you just go and do what you can. That's the best part. There are days that I go and I push my self super hard. Then there are days when I just feel off; and just do what I can. I figure as long as I am moving, it's better then sitting on the couch. I also enjoy a good yoga work out. It is an awesome workout using only your own body weight. Make me realize that I am stronger then I think I am. I recommend both. Yoga I do at home with my Jillian Michaels DVD (the gym doesn't have a class that fits into my schedule). Once in a while I can get the kids to do the yoga with me. My son needs it, he has no flexability!. My daughter just likes it because you get to use a mat (Oh, so exciting).

I have also done pilates reformer (and loved it), in the past. Unfortunitly, it is an additional cost at the gym. I have a friend who is also a personal trainer, who also does pilates reformer. Love this because it's all core muscules. Recommend this too.

I enjoy working out, it's just the getting there that is the problem. There is always something else that needs to be done, before I can go. Like this week. Baking, shopping, wrapping, eating, drinking, school, homework, etc. Don't forget the kids activities (concerts, parties, practices, games).

    CALGONE TAKE ME AWAY!!!!
